When I flew my new Super Petrel LS at night for the first time, the wingtip strobe lights caused a problem for me.
Due to the mounting angle on the canted upper wingtip, the bright light was being emitted towards the cockpit.
Being a biplane the white lower wing reflection made this even worse.
The bright flashing light was so bad that I could not use the strobes when flying at night.
Night is when the strobes are most effective, so I was concerned not using them.
Came up with a simple solution that has worked well.
Used foil duct tape on the lower portion of the strobe light fixtures to block the light from coming towards the lower wing.
Problem solved.
